🎶 Go behind the scenes of the “Great Lake Concerto” — from first notes to final rehearsal! This video captures the creative journey with soloists Ed Harrison (Lyric Opera of Chicago) and Vadim Karpinos (Chicago Symphony Orchestra) as we prepared for the world premiere with Emanuele Andrizzi at Auditorium Theatre.

Rehearsals for the Great Lake Concerto began after the first rehearsal was cancelled due to -32°F wind-chill. 🥁 🥁

In part 3 we take a look at the process of putting together the cadenzas for Ed & Vadim. The cadenzas are a main focus of the 3rd Movement which is being performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Marin Alsop at the Ravinia Festival on July 25, 2025.

Tim Corpus is a composer with a genuine lyric impulse. He writes music that is at the same time challenging and appealing - which should be the ideal of any composer. He has a wonderful ear for sound and for shape. This is a composer with a real and important voice.
