Immersive New 90-Minute Ambient Album ‘Place of Rest’ Guides Listeners Into Deep, Restorative Sleep

Crafted with scientifically-backed breathing techniques, 432Hz drones, and rich soundscapes designed to calm the mind and body.

Independent composer and sound artist Tim Corpus today announced the upcoming release of Place of Rest, a deeply immersive, 90-minute concept album meticulously engineered to facilitate the transition from waking anxiety to deep, restorative sleep. Comprising five distinct atmospheric movements plus a continuous, uninterrupted 90-minute listening experience, the project serves as a sonic sanctuary for those navigating sleeplessness and daily stress.

Unlike standard ambient collections, Place of Rest operates as a progressive narrative structure that mirrors the natural biological descent into deep sleep. By combining organic improvisations, specialized breath-work pacing, and targeted sound therapy frequencies, the album moves from active relaxation into the deep wave cycles required for true physical and mental recovery.

“Sleep can often feel painfully out of reach, caught behind the noise and distractions of our waking lives,” says Tim. “With Place of Rest, I wanted to create a very real and relaxing space where the listener could anchor themselves, let go of the day’s tension, and be gently guided into a restorative state. Each track serves as a structural stepping stone into deeper layers of rest.”

Track-by-Track Journey:

  • Deep Roots: The album opens with a textural, timeless world where melodies, harmonies, and rhythms float without clear definition. Built from layered, organic improvisations, this track invites listeners to forget the day and plant their roots for deep relaxation.
  • 4-7-8: Inspired directly by the 4-7-8 breathing technique popularized by Dr. Andrew Weil, this movement structurally guides the listener’s respiration. The music actively paces the breath before settling into a soft, regular rhythm that melts away residual tension and fades gently into sleep.
  • Through the Window: Sometimes sleep feels far away. You’re laying awake and it feels like you’ll never fall asleep. This track imagines sleep to be an escape, like climbing through a window, moving away from the distractions of the day. After the listener has calmed their breathing through the previous track, they are invited to out the window, into an expansive, soft dreamscape. A welcoming and relaxing environment.
  • An Ocean: Emulating the weightless sensation of floating, this track captures the transition into the deeper stages of the sleep cycle. The air softens, muscles completely relax, and the body weightlessly drifts as autonomic systems slow down.
  • Delta: Reaching the ultimate destination of deep sleep, the album’s tuning shifts entirely to the resonant frequency of 432Hz. Parallel synthesis drones float through an expansive, highly reverberant space, accompanied by deep rolling bass drums and pink noise specifically engineered to block out worldly distractions.

Available on all major streaming platforms and digital stores on August 6, 2026, Place of Rest offers a vital tool for wellness, mindfulness practitioners, and anyone seeking refuge from sleep deprivation. The full 90-minute continuous mix provides an uninterrupted canopy of sound perfect for overnight playback.
