Tim Corpus – Executive Director of the Year

The Illinois Council of Orchestras recently announced the 2026 recipients of its annual awards for excellence in the field of music performance and for support of musical organizations.

I am honored to have received the nomination and award of Executive Director of the Year. I have enjoyed my time working with the Hyde Park Youth Symphony with the students, artistic staff, and board of directors. It’s such an honor to be recognized for this kind of work and by my peers in the field.

An awards panel that included judges from the Illinois Council of Orchestras Board of Directors and from independent arts organizations reviewed nominations representing orchestras, youth orchestras, and chamber ensembles from throughout Illinois. 

The Hyde Park Youth Symphony will be honoring me at their upcoming event “Cheers to 70 Years” on May 2nd. Tickets are still available.
