Race Day

Continuing with my work in designing video game scenes so I can compose music for video games…I did a thing.

I took on the Unity Karting Microgame tutorial and created Race Day!

This game is obviously inspired by old school Mario Kart games and I really wanted to compose some upbeat synthy music. I composed four tracks: Menu, Game, Lose, and Win. It was a ton of fun to write for and my favorite track is definitely the Win Music. It’s just so 80s and silly I love it.

To compose the music I worked with my ASM Hydrasynth. This machine is very powerful and I was able to put together some terrific synthy sounds for sound effects and for the music. I’ll do another post about the sound effects I made, but for now, enjoy the music and race away!
