Representing the Academy means advocating, supporting, and celebrating the many voices that make up our diverse creative community year-round, and I look forward to joining leaders dedicated to driving music forward.

Join the Recording Academy

The Recording Academy is the leading music organization representing all music professionals, including performers, songwriters, producers, and engineers. Our members celebrate music creators through the GRAMMYs, advocate for their rights, mentor the next generation, and more. We honor music across all genres and welcome both domestic and international creators to help shape the industry’s future.

Application Process

  1. Have two fellow music professionals submit letters of recommendation on your behalf. Ensure both recommenders refer to the exact email address you plan to use for your membership so we can link them to you.
  2. After the recommendations are submitted, you will receive an email to complete your application. Both recommendation forms and the application must be submitted by March 1 each year.
  3. In the spring, the Peer Review Panel reviews all submissions and selects the new membership class.
  4. Approved candidates will receive an invitation by early July, and new members have until that year’s GRAMMY Awards voting deadline to accept.
