Recording New Orchestral Piece “A Light Divided” at Silent Zoo Studios
It’s been a month of working with Joy Music House, culminating in fantastically long days of recording sessions at Silent Zoo Studios (the home of some of my favorite scores).
I composed a new piece called “A Light Divided”, which I’ll be able to share one day soon. This new chamber orchestra piece was recorded by some of LA’s most talented musicians.
The whole month was such a fun ride. Working with these talented composers and learning from the Joy Music House team was such a pleasure. I wrote this new chamber orchestra piece in about one week and spent just about an hour of recording time with musicians in Silent Zoo Studios.
Many thanks to so many involved:
🤘 My partner in crime, sharing the desk with me and keeping me organized, Brandon Maahs
🎶 The incredibly talented community of composers in the room who all lifted each other up throughout the weekend, with no bias, no agenda, and no competition.
🎺🎻 The talented musicians who put in the long hours bringing so much music to life.
🎧 The JMH team for their guidance, support, technical prowess, oh and also their love of good food.
🙏 Last and not least, Catherine Joy for her wisdom, patience, and support of each of us.
📸 These great photos {of me looking too serious} are by the very talented Christian Amonson, who volunteered to document the weekend.
