The Greatest Sports Towns On Earth

I’m stoked to announce that the new podcast Billy Puckett & Alex Kacik and I have been working on for a long time is finally going live! We recently joined the fine folks on the network Blue Wire Hustle and our intro episode is streaming everywhere you listen to podcasts.

I’m producing and composing music for the show called “The Greatest Sports Towns On Earth” where we dive deep in to towns of all sizes and talk with guests about how sports can shape the lives of a community. We have some incredible guests and a lot of fun episodes coming out this fall/winter.

You’ll notice the intro music is a throw back to my Drumline days.

I thought a bit of a high school / college sports sound of the drumline would be a good uniting theme for the show. I’ll showcase in a new video next week some of the process writing the drumline sound.

I’ve been writing music for Drumlines for years and years, I also was the founding director of the Loyola University Chicago Drumline and taught throughout the state of Illinois.

The sound of the drumline has such a placement in sports culture, even all the major football and basketball teams have a drumline nowadays. I’ll also be inserting a bit of pop/rock music for the breaks as well. It’s gonna be a good time, so go check it out!

Tim Corpus is a composer with a genuine lyric impulse. He writes music that is at the same time challenging and appealing - which should be the ideal of any composer. He has a wonderful ear for sound and for shape. This is a composer with a real and important voice.
