Season 2 of the Opera Festival of Chicago
The Opera Festival of Chicago returns for its second season! I once again am doing marketing and operations for the organization as it continues to grow.
The three-week festival will feature fully staged productions of Gioachino Rossini’s L’Inganno Felice and Giuseppe Verdi’s Il Corsaro – the first time each has been performed professionally in Chicago in modern history.
We also pay tribute to the legendary Italian soprano Renata Tebaldi, honoring the 100th anniversary of her birth with a recital featuring many of the famous arias she premiered in Chicago in the mid-20th century.
It was a busy time leading up to announcing the season. I helped the General Director and the team from UpStage put together the new site (living on WordPress) as well as the new CRM. I haven’t talked as much about my work in arts administration (should I? Is that an interesting topic?), but moving to a CRM is always an exciting process and opportunity for growth. I’ve worked with a variety of systems and the ol’ classic pen and paper method and I can’t push enough – GET A CRM AND BOX OFFICE SOFTWARE!
At some point I should share more about how to do ticketing with a Google Spreadsheet, but it’s seriously annoying.
The upcoming season with the Opera Festival of Chicago is going to be really exciting and cross the city of Chicago in three different venues. So be sure to check it out as well as the incredible cast and orchestra that will be involved in the performances.
