Inspired by the loss of loved ones, a divorce, job loss, the continued fight for social justice, and the Covid-19 pandemic all in 2020, the music examines our relationships with the past, ourselves, our community, our fears, and our hopes.<\/p>\n

I hope that listeners sit down with a cocktail and just experience the album. The days are so hectic now that the U.S. is reopening, but have we taken time to reflect on what we lost and what we gained? \nCo-Producer \/ Piano<\/p>\n

Alyssa Arrigo is a freelance pianist in the Chicagoland area and former collaborator with such companies as Chicago Opera Theater, Chicago Fringe Opera and Civic Orchestra. \u00a0As an adjunct faculty member at Moraine Valley Community College she teaches private piano instruction, Music Appreciation and the Music History sequence for music majors.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Alyssa is a graduate of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. While completing her Master\u2019s Degree, Alyssa worked as an opera coach and rehearsal pianist for the IU Opera Theater. Alyssa received her Bachelor\u2019s Degree in piano performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts with a minor in music theory.\u00a0 Ms. Arrigo is an avid collaborator. In 2011 she was seen with tenor Andrew Lunsford at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. She continues to collaborate with Chicago area vocal and string studios. Alyssa lives in Lockport with her husband and two kids.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Chris Davis” tab_id=”1626311247141-d78ccf16-a672″][vc_column_text]Chris Davis<\/strong>
\nTrumpet<\/p>\n

Chris Davis is the leader of the Chris Davis Jazztet and trumpet professor at Trinity Christian College.\u00a0 He also works with Orbert Davis\u2019s Chicago Jazz Philharmonic as a trumpeter in the orchestra and as a teaching artist and jazz band director during the school year.<\/p>\n

After earning a Jazz Studies Degree from Northern Illinois University in 2005, Davis began his teaching career as a band director in 2006 at Seton Academy High School in South Holland, Illinois.\u00a0 Since then, he has served as an adjudicator for the Illinois Music Educators Association, as well as the Illinois High School Association, Iowa Jazz Championships, and many other competitions and festivals.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Davis has worked with the following artists in some capacity: The Isley Brothers, Dennis Edwards and The Temptations Review, Orbert Davis, The Clarke Sisters, Steve Harvey, Mary Wilson, The Four Tops, Chicago Jazz Orchestra, Jennifer Hudson, Ron Kenoly, Barry Manilow, and many others.<\/p>\n

Davis is the host of\u00a0Behind the Note Podcast: Advice For A Successful Music Career<\/a>, where he interviews musicians about what has worked for them in their career on their way to success. Past guests include Rufus Reid, Chris Botti, John Clayton, Terell Stafford, Dee Snider, Wynton Marsalis, and many others.<\/p>\n

\nHorn<\/p>\n

Matthew Bronstein<\/em><\/strong>, born and raised in Agoura Hills, CA, received his bachelor\u2019s degree in Horn performance from Roosevelt University in Chicago, where he studied with Dale Clevenger, the long-time principal horn of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. A highly praised freelancer in the Chicagoland area, he spent two years as a regular member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and has performed with the symphony orchestras of Chicago, Montreal, Milwaukee, and North Carolina, as well as the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Grant Park Music Festival Orchestra, and the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra. His versatility has allowed him to perform with the Chicago Jazz Ensemble and Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, while also working on multiple jazz and pop recordings with such recording studios as Hinge Inc., Engine Studios, and Transient Sound Inc. His attended summer festivals include the Spoleto Music Festival, the Midsummer Chamber Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Center, the Music Academy of the West, and the Round Top Music Festival. Matthew is an avid sports fan and plays in the Midwest Suburban Baseball league on the Chicago River Bandits.<\/p>\n

Timothy\u00a0Archbold<\/span>\u00a0is an Australian cellist\u00a0currently playing with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Chicago and as associate principal with the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra. \u00a0He received his undergraduate degree in Music from the University of Melbourne, Australia then\u00a0studied chamber music and cello performance in Germany for five years.\u00a0 He then went on to receive his master\u2019s degree in music from Wichita State University where he played with the Graduate String Quartet and the Wichita Symphony.\u00a0 He is currently free-lancing and teaching in the Chicago Area. When not doing cello stuff, Timothy enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 girls Eleanor, Lucy and Abigail.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Derek Fitting” tab_id=”1626311569077-35f88600-eb68″][vc_column_text]Derek Fitting<\/strong>
\nTrumpet<\/p>\n

Shortly after arriving in Chicago in 2006 to attend the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Derek quickly established himself as an elite trumpet player. Equally comfortable in classical, commercial, rock and jazz, Derek is regularly seen performing throughout the Midwest with orchestras, operas, pit orchestras, as a featured soloist, and with the Temporal Brass Quintet of which he is a founding member. With a passion and dedication for the advancement of new music, Derek is a regular member of the Chicago Composers Orchestra and has also performed the world premiere of multiple new works for solo trumpet, chamber ensembles, orchestras, and operas.<\/p>\n

In addition to his active performance career, Derek is equally active in education as a private lesson instructor and active clinician. Maintaining an active studio of over 40 students throughout the Chicagoland area and online, Derek passionately shares techniques and methods with his students, helping them to reach new heights in their playing and helping to pioneer the future of trumpet education. Many of his methods of teaching have been developed over years of studying with some of the worlds best trumpet players; including Gene Arnold, Rob Parton, Mark Ridenour(Chicago Symphony), and Channing Philbrick (Lyric Opera).[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][\/vc_tta_tabs][vc_custom_heading text=”Press” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%2312004e” use_theme_fonts=”yes”]\t

The album is a reflection on the tumultuous year that changed all of our lives but in different and, at times, imperceivable ways. How did your life change this past year and a half? Who were you before? Who are you now? Have you taken stock of these changes and transitions? Each of us has gone through them, but I think very few of us have dug as deep into these questions as Timothy has on\u00a0MMXX.\u00a0The album is a contemplative space in which to explore these investigations into ourselves and the passage of time.
